The Gate Safe Installer Card is for professionals who have completed Gate Safe IOSH-approved training and passed the required ECS Health, Safety & Environment and ECS Electrical Safety Unit assessments. It confirms that the holder understands the hazards associated with automated gates and is competent to carry out risk assessments and safe installations.

The Gate Safe training itself is typically £99 + VAT per delegate, paid directly to Gate Safe or the training provider. Our ECSApply service fee to help apply, renew or replace your card is £79 + VAT.
The training usually lasts 4–4.5 hours including breaks. It covers automated gate safety requirements, applicable standards, risk assessment procedures, common hazard scenarios and best practice for installation, inspection and maintenance.
The Gate Safe Installer Card is valid for 12 months from the date of training. To keep your status current, you must complete Gate Safe refresher training every 2 years and keep your ECS HSE assessment valid.
You must complete the Gate Safe IOSH-approved training and pass two ECS assessments: the ECS Health, Safety & Environment assessment and the ECS Electrical Safety Unit assessment.
