Formal ECS recognition for apprentices enrolled in Fire, Emergency & Security Systems (FESS) training programmes across the UK.
Official-style FESS Apprentice ECS Card – supervised on-site work for apprentices.
The FESS Apprentice ECS Card is issued to individuals enrolled in the Modern Apprenticeship in Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (SCQF Level 6) or an approved equivalent qualification. It provides formal ECS recognition that you are an apprentice in training and permits supervised on-site work while you build your skills.
This card helps employers, clients and site managers quickly confirm your apprentice status, training level and basic health & safety competence within the FESS sector.
Standard application processing: 10–15 working days
The Modern Apprenticeship in Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) at SCQF Level 6 provides structured training in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of life safety and security systems. Apprentices combine college-based learning with supervised on-site experience to develop real-world technical skills.
Recognised across UK construction and FESS sectors as official apprentice identification.
Demonstrates that you have met ECS health, safety and environmental requirements.
Makes it easy for site managers and supervisors to confirm your apprentice status and training route.
Supports safe, legal access to UK sites for on-the-job training and work experience.
The application fee is £99 + VAT. Once we receive your complete application with all required documents, it normally takes around 10–15 working days to process and issue your FESS Apprentice ECS Card. Incomplete or incorrect applications may take longer.
SCQF Level 6 is broadly equivalent to Level 3 qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and reflects a solid level of technical and practical learning suitable for advanced apprenticeship training.
The card is generally valid for the duration of your apprenticeship. If your apprenticeship continues beyond the expected end date, you may need to renew or extend your card with updated apprenticeship evidence.
No exemptions are accepted for the FESS Apprentice ECS Card. All applicants must pass the ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment, even if they hold other safety qualifications or previous experience.
The FESS Apprentice ECS Card allows you to work on-site under appropriate supervision while completing your apprenticeship. You can gain practical experience in fire detection, emergency systems, intruder alarms, CCTV and other security systems as part of your structured training programme.
