Important: Apply ECS Card is an independent support service. We do not represent ECS or JIB and we do not issue the official ECS Maintenance Electrician Gold Card. Our £79 fee is for application support only – any ECS card or test fees are separate.
UK-based support for experienced maintenance electricians applying to get, renew or replace an ECS Maintenance Electrician Gold Card for industrial and construction sites.
Example ECS Maintenance Electrician Gold Card – official cards are issued by ECS, not by Apply ECS Card.
The ECS Maintenance Electrician Gold Card is normally used by experienced electricians who specialise in planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repair and testing of electrical systems. It helps show that you work to recognised UK standards and have completed an appropriate safety assessment for working on industrial and construction sites.
Many ECS Gold Card applications are processed in around 10–15 working days after the official body receives a complete and correct application. Processing times and decisions are controlled by ECS and may change depending on their workload and current rules.
The £79 fee is for Apply ECS Card support only. Official ECS card fees, HS&E tests and any training costs are separate and paid directly to the relevant providers.
The official ECS scheme will always make the final decision on whether your qualifications and experience meet their current maintenance electrician criteria.
If you still need to achieve a recognised Level 3 qualification or update your wiring regulations and testing knowledge, there are many approved UK training providers who offer electrical maintenance, inspection and testing courses, plus ECS Health & Safety assessments. We can point you towards the type of training that is normally looked for, but you will choose and book any courses directly with the provider.
Helps show main contractors and clients that you meet a recognised maintenance electrician standard.
Backed by a formal health & safety assessment for working on UK construction and industrial sites.

Our support fee is £79. This covers our help with understanding the requirements, checking your details for obvious issues and guiding you through the submission steps. Any official ECS card, test or training fees are separate and are paid directly to the relevant organisations.
Many ECS Gold Cards are normally valid for up to three years. Always check the expiry date printed on your own card and follow the latest ECS renewal rules, as scheme requirements can change over time.
It is generally linked to roles involving maintenance, testing, fault-finding and repair of existing electrical installations or equipment on industrial, commercial or construction sites, rather than new build installation work only.
No. We cannot guarantee approval because only ECS can decide if you meet their current criteria and grading rules. Our role is to help you prepare a clear and complete application, but the final decision is always made by the official scheme.
